The towers stand 30 to 42 inches tall on a narrow base and oscillate 90 degrees, or 120 on the smart model, so they fit beside a bed or in a corner of an apartment. What sets Pelonis heaters and fans apart
Two kinds of heating technology
The heater side is split between ceramic heating and oil filled radiators. Ceramic models push warm air out with a fan, while 75 to 83 degrees of oscillation spreads it across the room. The radiators heat thermal oil sealed in their fins and release the warmth silently. Since most models in both groups top out at 1500W, the real choice is between speed and silence.
Fan motors with a decibel figure
Most of the fans carry a noise rating in decibels: 20 dB for the brushless DC circulator and the Wi-Fi circulator, 22 dB for the 40-inch bladeless towers, 23 dB for the 42-inch tower with eco mode. The AC copper motor models sit higher, at 30 dB for the small tower and 45 dB for the manual pedestal fan. When you shop for a fan for bedroom use, a DC model in the low 20s is the quieter end of the range.
Oscillation on two axes
The air circulators sweep 135 degrees side to side and 90, 100 or 135 degrees vertically, and the Wi-Fi model reaches 150 degrees horizontally. Tower and pedestal fans use a wide oscillation of 90 degrees and between three and six speed settings, with a 24-degree tilt on the pedestal heads. Two-axis movement is what lets a circulator take cooled or heated air from an AC or heater and move it around a whole room.

The 16-inch ceramic heater pairs a remote control with a thermostat that moves in 1°F steps from 41 to 95°F. At the other end, the white smart bladeless tower works with Alexa and Google Assistant, and the black 40-inch tower's remote reaches up to 30 feet.
Housings, fins and safety features
Heater housings on the 16-inch ceramic heater, the PH-19J and the PTH15A2BGB are made from UL94 V-0 flame-retardant material, and the 30-inch tower heater uses V0 flame retardant materials as well. The two compact dial heaters have cool-touch ABS on the outside, and the mini heater has a cool-touch housing. The radiators are built around seven fins filled with thermal oil, or M-shaped fins on the remote model.
Tip-over protection and overheat protection appear together on the 23-inch ceramic towers, the compact heaters, the 1500W fanless radiator and the seven-fin radiators. The 16-inch ceramic heater is ETL listed, and the plug and cord on the seven-fin radiators meet ETL standards. Among the fans, the 36-inch tower, the manual pedestal fan and the 12-inch table fan carry ETL certification, and the 16-inch pedestal fans shut off automatically if the motor overheats.
Care is simple on most of the fans. The bladeless towers have no exposed blades and wipe down with a cloth, the khaki 40-inch tower comes apart without tools for washing, and the manual pedestal fan has removable front and rear grilles. Keep every heater indoors: the radiators and the 23-inch oscillating tower are made for indoor use only.

A light sleeper who runs a fan all night
Motor hum keeps light sleepers awake more than airflow does. The khaki 40-inch tower runs at 23 dB, has a Sleep mode and switches itself off with a 7-hour timer, so it can be set at bedtime and forgotten.
